I found myself struggling with inspiration and motivation. I wanted to paint and create, but I didn't know WHAT. I thought to myself: "I should paint what resonates with me. What is important to me?" As I was scrolling through my camera roll one evening, it came to me... I admired pictures I'd taken of myself and saw the beauty and art of my body, it's marks, and curves. For the first time in a long time, I felt excited to paint something! Sketching and painting this felt peaceful and natural.

Like Sonya Renee Taylor says, "The Body Is Not An Apology"! I encourage you to treat your home with love; it’s the only one you navigate life with. Never let anyone shame you into hiding parts of yourself or diming your light, just because you may not fit into society’s standards. If you struggle with self esteem and body image or have ever been bullied for how you look, just know that you’re worthy and valid. I see you!
