Description
I asked various Black women how they would describe their hair and how it makes them feel. I started working on this painting back in June of 2015. Lack of inspiration and the passing of my mother took me away from painting for a few months. August of 2017, I finally felt that spark to get back into what I love. And I finally finished this piece. With this painting, I hope it lets women/femmes know that no matter how their hair looks, they're beautiful. I hope it encourages women who are natural to be proud of their hair... kinky, coily, or wavy.
Originally an acrylic painting on canvas paper.
"GregariousAli" watermark, as pictured, is not included on the actual piece.
