Society's beauty standards will have one believe that they are ugly if they're Black and have a big/wide nose or big lips. Society makes Black women/femme's feel as if they're undesirable, but in that same breath, other races will spend their last dime on surgery and cosmetics to make themselves look like us. I was inspired to paint this piece, because I wanted to emphasize the beauty that is Black skin and facial features.
